About Michael
Michael F. Hyland has been with KKO since August 2023. Mike is a lifelong Philadelphia resident, having been born and raised in the heart of the City. Mike graduated from Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School in 2009, before heading to Queens, New York where he received a full academic Scholarship from St. John’s University and graduated with his BA in English in 2013. Mike attended Temple University’s James E. Beasley School of Law with a Faculty scholarship and graduated in 2017. While at the Beasley School of Law, Mike was involved with the Nationally recognized Trial Advocacy Program and worked at the Defender’s Association of Philadelphia where he represented clients a multitude of criminal cases including, but not limited to, weapon and drug cases, thefts and assault while also working behind the scenes on Major Crime cases. Throughout his last year at Temple, Mike also worked on multiple cases under Pennsylvania’s Post Conviction Relief Act.
Mike comes to KKO with years of experience on the defense side of Workers’ Compensation matters having handled all types of petitions before the Workers’ Compensation Judges up through the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He now uses that experience and knowledge to protect his clients’ interests in Workers’ Compensation against the insurance companies he used to work for.
While not at the office, Mike is an avid Philly sports fans, regularly attending Eagles and Phillies games. He also volunteers his time coaching travel youth baseball and is heavily involved with Philadelphia Dragons Sports Association (FKA Taney Baseball) in downtown Philadelphia.
